A senior product designer who can take it from here.
I work with founders and software teams on their products and client projects.
I make recommendations, explain the decisions, and work with developers to get the design built within the time and budget available.
You shouldn’t have to manage every design detail.
| Topic | What you may have experienced | How I work |
|---|---|---|
| Where to start | You had to work out the missing details before design could move forward. | I work out the next steps. I review what you have, ask about what’s missing, and recommend where to start. |
| Knowing where things stand | You kept chasing updates to find out what was done and what was still waiting. | I keep you informed. Progress, open questions, and what I need from you. |
| Understanding the choices | You received different options without knowing why those choices were made. | I explain the choices. What each option solves, what it means for the project, and which one I recommend. |
| Details for development | The screens looked ready, but developers kept finding unanswered questions. | I work through the details with them. Different situations, errors, and missing information, not just the ideal path. |
| Working with your people | You had to explain the work to your client and pass design questions back from developers. | I speak directly with both sides. Goals and priorities with your client. Behaviour and technical details with developers. |
| Following through on feedback | Your feedback was applied in one place but missed elsewhere. | I carry changes through. I check which screens and interactions your feedback affects and update them together. |
| Presenting the work | You had to present work you didn’t have enough context to explain. | I present and answer questions. I explain the designs and the reasoning behind them, directly to the people involved. |
| Changes to the timeline | You found out too late that something would take longer than planned. | I flag changes early. If timing or scope changes, I explain the impact and discuss the options with you. |
| Working within limits | The proposed solution needed more time or budget than you had. | I work within your limits. We discuss time and budget early, then decide what to keep, simplify, or leave out. |
| Keeping decisions clear | The same decisions kept coming back for another round of discussion. | I keep track of what we agreed. I record decisions and the reasons behind them. When something changes, I explain what needs another look. |
| Knowing when to reconsider | Changing direction became a difficult conversation. | I know when to reconsider. I explain my concerns and support the agreed direction, even when it wasn’t my first choice. |
| Keeping the product consistent | Each new feature made the product feel less consistent. | I build on what already works. I check how new work fits the existing product and reuse the patterns that make sense. |
| Support during development | Support ended when the files were delivered. | I stay involved during development. I answer questions and resolve design details as the work gets built. |

More of the work lives elsewhere.
I care how it looks. And what it takes to make it work.
I’m Altay. I’ve worked in digital design since 2008, with an earlier background in front-end development. That still shapes how I design: I think about how things will be built, what might get complicated, and whether the extra work is worth it.
I care about how a product looks and feels. The typography, spacing, colours and small interactions should feel considered and belong together. I want your product to have a character of its own, not look like it could belong to any company.
ASDC is my independent practice. I work directly with founders, software teams and studios on their products and client projects.
I’ll tell you what I recommend and why. I’ll also tell you when something I’ve designed isn’t worth the time it would take to build. If we choose a different direction, I’ll help make it work.
